MOHMAND: Five Pakistani soldiers and 10 terrorists were killed during a cross border attack on three Pakistani check posts on Afghan border last night, ARY News reported.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement on Monday said that the terrorists attacked three border posts of Pakistan in Mohmand tribal region on Pak-Afghan border. The soldiers of Pakistan Army promptly responded with full force and foiled the terrorist attack, the ISPR said.
The soldiers foiled the terrorists to enter in Pakistani territory. In the attack five Pakistani soldiers Naik Sanaullah, Naik Safdar, Altaf, Anwar and Naik Mohammad were martyred, the ISPR statement said.
Pakistani soldiers in retaliatory firing killed 10 terrorists, while several others were injured in the incident.
Army Chief pays tribute to martyred soldiers
Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid tribute to soldiers for sacrificing their lives to foil a terrorist attack in Mohmand Agency.
ISPR spokesman in a statement said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa has extended sympathies to the families of the martyred soldiers.
Gen. Bajwa also called upon Afghan authorities to devise an effective mechanism of border management on their side to ensure stopping free cross border movement of the terrorists.
Pakistan’s Army Chief said, ” We have common enemy, which needs joint fight against them and to stop their free movement on the border.”
