KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chief Dr Farooq Sattar is to chair a key party meeting today (Monday) after a senior party leader announced joining the rival Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).
The meeting is to be held just a day after the MQM-P suffered a major setback on Sunday when the senior leader and Deputy Mayor of Karachi – Arshad Vohra – bid the party adieu and joined Mustafa Kamal’s PSP.
According to sources, the top leadership of MQM-P is to discuss issues concerning party discipline and members changing their allegiance.
Earlier in a press conference, Vohra had claimed that many MNAs associated with the MQM-P were willing to ditch the party to join Kamal-led PSP.
Offering apology for failing to serve the public, he said that he preferred to relinquish his post if he could not keep the promises he had made to his voters.
