LAHORE: At least four people were injured when a roof of a house collapsed in Lahore early morning Wednesday, ARY News reported.
The rescue workers along with injured people found seven shells of defused hand grenades from the rubble.
The roof of the house, located in Mochi Gate area of the old city, collapsed leaving eight people trapped under the debris.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene. A rescue operation was launched and the people trapped under debris were retrieved from the rubble. The rescue teams faced problems to extend help to the victims due to narrow alleys in the old city area of Lahore.
Four people who had sustained injuries were rushed to a hospital for treatment. A youth still said to be trapped under the debris.
Seven defused shells of the hand grenades, found by the rescue workers from the collapsed structure, has however given a mysterious twist to the incident. The police earlier said that the incident has nothing to do with the grenade explosion, when the first grenade shell found from the rubble.
“The roof was collapsed as the house was in a dilapidated condition,” police officials said.
